BoHo Cornwall is a truly magical elopement venue in West Cornwall and I was absolutely delighted when Ellie & Dale asked me along to document their intimate wedding.
Photographing an elopement is a very different experience to photographing a large wedding. Blending completely into the background is not really an option when it’s just the three of you, so making sure that the couple feel at ease in your presence is even more important than usual.
It was lovely getting to know Ellie & Dale a little as they got themselves ready – they are a very genuine, funny and warm couple and I instantly felt comfortable in their company.
The ceremony took place by candlelight in the beautiful oak-panelled hall, I cannot think of a more romantic setting. As a wedding photographer I always feel incredibly privileged to be present for such an important day but when there are so few people there it feels extra special. The only other people present were the registrars and the wonderful Maya and Tom who own and run the venue and acted as witnesses.
We were blessed with the most incredible October sunshine, it was so warm it felt like summer and there is no shortage of ruggedly beautiful locations in the vicinity of BoHo Cornwall. We headed down to Cape Cornwall for a wander and some pictures (I love a Bride in Converse and a leather jacket – perfect for scrambling over the rocks!)
Feast your eyes on a few highlights of this very special and unforgettable day.
