Operation Blog Catch up continues with Alison and Dave’s beautiful Carlyon Bay Hotel wedding! As soon as I met Dave and Alison last year I knew I was going to enjoy their wedding – they are so warm, kind and funny and don’t take themselves too seriously so this was a wedding I really looked forward to.
If you haven’t been to Carlyon Bay Hotel before it is well worth checking out. Overlooking a beautiful sandy bay, there is an option to get married outdoors but if the weather puts a stop to this plan, the glass-fronted indoor ceremony room still affords the benefit of gorgeous views and light. Alison and Dave’s ceremony was wonderful – lots of tears and laughter – the couple’s granddaughter and bridesmaid got incredibly emotional and her tears certainly got lots of other people’s eyes welling up – my own included! After the ceremony we managed to get outside for some confetti and photographs ahead of the reception meal. Later in the afternoon, the weather cleared somewhat and we were able to get outside to enjoy the views from the coastal path whilst the kids burned off some energy playing mini golf and tennis! We also enjoyed some live music in the lounge, and watched the kids and Alison’s parents showcase their dance moves before we headed down to the Golf Club for the evening reception.
