Claire and John celebrated their 10 year wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in the company of some of their closest family and friends at their favourite Cornish haunt, the Hotel Victoria in Newquay. This was my first vow renewal so I was very excited to be asked, not least because I love shooting at the Hotel Victoria: The ceremony room is so light and bright with the most incredible ocean views, the staff are wonderful and the whole place just oozes classic British seaside glamour.
The renewal was led by the fabulous Cornish Celebrants and family was placed at the very heart of the ceremony: Claire and John have four children, and they all took an active role: Claire was walked down the aisle by her son, the girls did readings and the whole family lit a unity candle together, which was a really beautiful moment. The Cornish Celebrants always manage to work with couples to create ceremonies that are at once sincere, meaningful and lots of fun and there was lots of laughter throughout.
Afterwards the couple celebrated with family and friends in the bar area where John’s rugby friends gifted him with a signed Exeter Chiefs Rugby ball (he looked *nearly* as thrilled with this as he did when he saw his beautiful wife walking down the aisle!). We then headed off to the beach for a few photographs. It is always so much fun walking with a bride and groom through Newquay town – everyone wants to offer their congratulations and best wishes – it is so lovely to see the wedding happiness spread so far and wide.
Claire and John, I enjoyed meeting you and your gorgeous family so much. Huge congratulations on your anniversary and I hope the next ten years bring you both every joy and happiness.
