BlogRachael + DavidTrevenna Barns - St. Neot - Cornwall

Rachael and I were introduced at an exercise class by our fabulous instructor Becky (she’s great, look her up! www.thinkfitcornwall.com) when she realised that Rachael was still without a wedding photographer for her January Trevenna Barns wedding. I warmed to Rachael immediately, she is incredibly friendly and chatty with a great sense of humour, and I knew straight away that the wedding was going to be a lot of fun.

I arrived at Trevenna as Rachael was having the final touches applied to her hair and makeup by the ever fabulous Hannah Symons and Rachael’s lovely hairdresser Sally. Bridal prep is always one of my favourite parts of the day but this one was particularly relaxed with lots of laughter as all manner of subjects were discussed (most notably, in my opinion, Alanis Morrissette’s dressing gown). We were joined briefly by Rachael’s two beautiful sons ahead of the ceremony who were delighted to see their mum in her wedding finery and then finally Rachael’s Dad, who could not have looked any prouder – the photos of the two of them walking down the aisle are some of my favourites from the day.

The ceremony was incredibly moving, particularly as some of it was conducted by David’s Aunt who is a registrar in a different part of the country. This personal touch was a real theme for the day: as well as the hair and makeup artists being friends of Rachael’s, the stunning flowers had been arranged by a David’s parents, cakes for the evening reception had been baked by the mother of the bride (alongside a spectacular tiered number by the very talented Fallon’s Cakes) and music for the evening reception was also to be provided by a friend’s band.

Rachael and David’s gorgeous boys were also a huge part of the day, as well as performing their ring – bearing duties with great panache, they and their friends kept everyone entertained all day long with their hilarious antics, epic games of hide and seek, chocolate brownie eating skills and even a spot of flossing.

I absolutely adored this wedding and really hope that the happiness of the day comes through in the photography. Thank you so much Rachael & David, for asking me to be a part of your day.
